Distinctive Unit Insignia

Description
A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned:  Or on a fess Sable three plates between in chief a demi-lion rampant issuant of the second and in base a mullet Gules.

Symbolism
The shield is yellow for Cavalry and across this is the black fess and three plates and the demi-lion of William Penn.  The star recalls the organization of the Regiment in Texas and its color the sometime service as Artillery.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 30 January 1925.  It was rescinded on 2 February 1959.

That for the regiments and separate battalions of the Army Reserve:  On a wreath of the colors Or and Sable, the Lexington Minute Man Proper.  The statue of the Minute Man, Captain John Parker, H.H. Kitson, sculptor, stands on the Common in Lexington, Massachusetts.

SPECTEMUR AGENDO (Let Us Be Judged By Our Actions).
